 Chaplain Extern, Dr. Elvira Christine Zee-Handley N.D., M.H. is the founder of numerous Michigan based mail order and Internet companies. She worked in Geriatric Services for 22 years being a private duty-nursing assistant. Trained in medical records, medical transcribing and podiatric medicine, serving has always been her first call. Traveling between two roads of talent, she worked 10 years in ladies retail marketing as a custom designer owning her own clothing stores in Detroit and Warren Michigan. Her creative talent in hand painted jackets, designer eyewear and one of a kind handcrafted jewelry pieces put her at the top of the local fashion market for many years. Her designs were featured on television, in music videos, newspapers, various magazines including “Jet and Detroit after dark hair styling magazines the Michigan Chronicle and Metro Times. Her eyewear was featured at the Detroit Car show and in the Detroit Grand Prix. Worn by many popular singers and entertainment artist, “Peeping Tom Eyewear” was the name to contend with in hand rhinestone sunglasses and jewelry.

 In 1997 Elvira received her certification and accreditation for Naturopathic Medicine through the “ANMA” American Naturopathic Medical Association where she is also a member. Dr. Zee-Handley trained in Natural/Alternative Medicine as well as Spirituality and Healing in Medicine through Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education. It included the Mind/ Body Medical Institute Care Group at Beth Israel Deacon Medical Center, which also came through Harvard. These studies earned her credits and recognition from the AMA. Her naturopathic business, “Grandmother’s Secrets” received the “3HHH” award for Healthy Herbal Habits in 1998.

The year 1999 brings Dr. Elvira full circle with her love for Christ as she studied to become a Chaplain Extern through the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University Chaplains program. She did volunteer work throughout the medical centers but was instructed by the Holy Spirit to begin a far, reaching ministry called Broken Vessel Ministries. Inspired through her own personal recovery from violent relationships, sexual abuse and sexual addiction, she was spiritually inspired to write it down as a means of self healing. She contends that constant sexual abuse as a child led to her sexual addiction. She also freely teaches that no one is above the sins of temptation, seduction and yes, addiction. Realizing how difficult it is for others to admit and deal with, sexual abuse and sexual additions, this is a top issue that God has called Dr. Zee-Handley to council and pray with others about. A single (divorced) mom, Elvira was born and raised in Detroit Michigan where she remains a lifetime COGIC member. Elvira can now smile at all the sad, negative comments about her past saying; “Who better than one that God has delivered can do this? Who could tell of God’s mercy any better than I? I say let the talk go forth because I am delivered, I am blessed and I am obeying God’s will.”

Holding on to the gospel and its full promise of salvation, Dr. Zee-Handley firmly deals with the opposite side of the sexual abuse spectrum. Her call is to help those that are the “sexual abusers and sexual offenders.” This job goes against what most people offer help in, as it is almost, always the person that has been abused that is offered help first (as it should be.). Strong in faith and determined to obey, Elvira knew this was a job that only the powerful Spirit of the Holy Ghost could prepare and teach her for. All of her personally inspired books, deal with how to achieve victory in healing and spiritual recovery from sexual abuse be it as an abused, victim (such as herself) or as the abuser/offender, through the one and only way, Jesus Christ. Broken Vessel Ministries Inc. is now a worldwide Non-denominational, outreach ministry that offers healing resources for those seeking information, prayer, spiritual counseling and referrals for church homes. Given the title “THE INVITER” by the Holy Spirit, it is her calling to invite hard to reach people to Christ. It is also her goal to get the word out that “sexual abusers and offender” can and must be delivered, healed, saved, and filled with the Holy Spirit, regardless of their past behavior or addictions. As you can see, there are many countries on the list that normally does not allow the Holy Bible in their homes, so how did I do it? God has allowed me to send one Bible at a time into these places. I offer free Bibles and blessed oil via the Internet but somehow the word spread on and off the Internet as well. I have received up to 1900 email request a day asking for a free Bible (no, I could not afford to ship that many at one time.) I have shipped cases of both Bibles and oil, now up into the thousands. Once a person in any of these countries receive a free Bible, they tell other family members and they order as well. The rest is history. I have been doing this for almost 12 years and have purposed to never miss a request if I could help it. The shipping cost is out of this world and it sometimes takes up to 4 months by boat in some places to reach the desired destination. There were many days I cried praying for the money to send just one package to a person in Germany or Russia. I knew how important it was as they don’t let our Holy Bibles in. I had to learn to trust God and be patient. God has never let me down. When visiting my home many would see all the wrapped packages and ask what were they and why I shipped so many? Upon telling them they were Bibles, they would pay the postage for every bible I had wrapped to go out at the time. Sometimes over $300.00 was paid per shipment due to the distance. Sadly, there are times that even after paying all I had to ship a box out, the postal inspectors in the other country would refuse the bibles. They returned them or would charge another duty on that end.  One the reciever could not afford. It has not been easy.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” (1 Corinthians 2: 3-6)
